Works and Days is a foundational didactic poem attributed to the ancient Greek poet Hesiod, composed around 700 BC. Written in dactylic hexameter, the work spans 828 lines and serves as a comprehensive guide to rural life and moral conduct.

At its core, the text functions as a farmer's almanac, providing practical agricultural advice. Hesiod addresses the poem to his brother, Perses, using the instruction of agricultural arts as a framework to explore broader themes of justice, labor, and human existence.
